We have a new exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join the team within our Pets category! In this role, you’ll be working across both FMCG and own-label product ranges, making this a great chance to broaden your buying experience and prepare for the next step in your buying career.
Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you\’ll be responsible for sourcing products that excite and engage our customers, while negotiating with suppliers to deliver the best ranges, prices, and promotions. You\’ll take ownership of three subcategories, gaining valuable experience with both branded and own-label products.
This role is based 5 days a week at our Support Centre, Speke Liverpool (L24) and you’ll also travel overseas several times a year.
In this role, the key responsibilities are:
- Source and manage product ranges from concept to launch across UK and Far East suppliers.
- Develop own-label ranges in collaboration with the Design Team and Buying Assistant.
- Build strong supplier relationships with both own-label and branded suppliers.
- Analyse weekly sales performance and recommend actions to the Senior Buyer.
- Build and manage a robust promotional calendar aligned to key seasonal events.
- Maintain an up-to-date critical path with merchandisers and suppliers.
- Support innovation and speed to market across both branded and own-brand lines.
To be successful you will have:
- Junior Buyer (or strong Assistant Buyer) experience, preferably multi-category.
- FMCG or Pet category experience will be advantageous but is not essential.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills, confident working with data and Excel.
- A growth mindset with a hands‑on approach and a desire to take ownership of your P&L.
- Willingness and ability to travel overseas for the role.
