Do you have great communication skills? B&M Retail is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Security Team Leader to oversee and lead the security operations at our Bedford Distribution Centre . This is a pivotal leadership role requiring a strong ability to manage, motivate, and develop a security team to ensure a safe, secure, and compliant working environment. This position is for a 48-hour contract, working 7am-7pm, 4 days a week Sunday-Wednesday. The ideal candidate will be fully flexible. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage an effective security team within a distribution centre environment. Lead and develop security team members within their roles and responsibilities. Collaborate closely with the Security Team Manager to implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices Manage CCTV requests as they come in. Oversee access control for all personnel and vehicles entering and exiting the premises Coordinate and conduct regular security patrols and thorough inspections of the site Manage vehicle bookings and ensure all security protocols are followed during vehicle entry/exit Conduct vehicle and colleague searches in line with company policies Accurately record and report all security incidents, ensuring timely and thorough documentation Ensure compliance with Data Protection regulations, Health & Safety standards, and company policies. Effectively handle conflict situations with strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Provide regular performance feedback and support team members’ development. Essential Skills And Experience Preferred experience in a security leadership or supervisory role. Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team knowledge of security protocols, Health & Safety legislation, and Data Protection laws Excellent conflict management and incident resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
