Due to continued team expansion, we’re excited to be hiring a Retail Insights Analyst to support transformation across our retail estate. You’ll work closely with store operations, commercial and insight teams, using data to uncover opportunities, solve problems and help the business make smarter decisions. This role focuses on translating complex data into clear, actionable insight that improves sales performance, enhances customer experience and drives operational efficiency. You will support strategic direction by uncovering trends, challenging assumptions and influencing stakeholders through data-led recommendations.
This is an office based role, located at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool 4 days, with 1 day from home.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Applying advanced analytical techniques (forecasting, predictive modelling, segmentation, trend analysis and statistical methods) to identify performance drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Analysing complex datasets to uncover trends and generate clear, actionable insights.
- Translating data into compelling narratives, using storytelling techniques to support decision-making across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Partnering with retail, commercial, transformation and operational teams to support strategic initiatives and drive performance improvement.
- Influencing business decisions through data-led recommendations with clear commercial impact.
- Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports and self-serve tools using Power BI and Excel to enable quick and efficient access to insight.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of retail initiatives and operational changes, driving continuous improvement.
- Managing large datasets from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency and reliability.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to share insights, enhance reporting capability and embed a data-driven culture across the business.
The skills and experience you'll bring:
- 1+ years' experience in retail analytics, insights or commercial roles within FMCG, grocery or consumer retail sectors.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex data into actionable commercial insights.
- Experience analysing ranging, pricing, promotions and customer behaviour to drive growth and profitability.
- Experience using Power BI, SQL, Excel and working with large datasets.
- Good understanding of retail KPIs, commercial drivers and customer performance metrics.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage key stakeholders at all levels.
- Passion for solving complex problems, with a proactive, curious and commercially minded approach.
- Ability to foster a data-driven and customer-centric culture through collaboration, change management and thought leadership.
