We are looking for a proactive and organised Assistant Buyer to join our Buying team, working across our Paint, Wallpaper and Decorative DIY ranges. This is a permanent, full-time, office-based role located at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool (L24). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone already in an Assistant Buyer role or a Buying Assistant ready to step up, who is keen to take ownership of key administrative responsibilities while gaining hands-on experience with product ranges, comp shops and supplier relationships.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Managing daily direct delivery paint orders, POS activity and store-related queries
  • Keying in promotional price changes and minimum stock levels
  • Supporting product selection and development, including wallpaper ranges
  • Taking ownership of sub-categories as you grow into the role
  • Overseeing the critical path by managing samples, pre-shipment approvals and shipping documents
  • Setting up products and placing orders, creating codes, updating systems and liaising with suppliers and the merchandising team
  • Communicating with UK and Far East suppliers, following up from meetings and range reviews
  • Creating artwork briefs for own-brand products
  • Coordinating with marketing, social media and web teams to provide product samples and information
  • Managing samples efficiently and accurately

What We Are Looking For:

  • Currently in a Buying Assistant or Assistant Buyer role, looking to grow your skills and take on more responsibility
  • A creative eye for product with strong attention to detail
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and comfortable handling data
  • Strong numeracy and excellent written and verbal communication skills
