Spreadsheets, trial balances, reconciliations, audits, tax, payroll, transfers, profit and loss, forecasts and much more. You can do that anywhere. But can you change lives for good and forever anywhere? Imagine being Blythswood’s new Chief Finance Officer. You’ll play a strategic part in the future direction and growth of Blythswood by doing all of the important things accountants do. You’ll help colleagues grow the organisation in the right way and you’ll inspire people to support this work so Blythswood is able to do more to change the lives of some of the most disadvantaged people for good and forever.
If you’re the right person for this role, that’s what will happen. You can do what accountants do anywhere, but when you work for Blythswood it’s not anywhere we’re asking you to come. We’re asking you to come to the Highlands, some call parts of it ‘the middle of nowhere’, however you’ll find most things you’ve seen in other urban environments in our city and towns, but you’ll only be a short journey away from sea or hills. The church will welcome you. You can be part of a rural or urban fellowship.
Who are we looking for?
- An optimist - Of course you’re a realist and know we need real money, not magic beans, to help people in a broken world. But you also believe God uses faithful stewardship to change lives for good and forever.
- More than an accountant - You do need to be a qualified accountant, but we want you to be excited about vision, strategy, growth and leading.
- A people person - You enjoy figures, but you love people more. You’ll work with them, lead some of them and help tens of thousands through wise use of your professional skills.
- An evangelical Christian - You love the church, locally and nationally (where our support comes from) and internationally (our partners through whom God changes lives).
- A leader – You will lead two small departments (Finance and HR) and you’ll share in strategic leadership with the Executive Team and CEO.
- A disciple – you follow Jesus and you’re only excited about this opportunity because you think this might be where he’s leading you – to become CFO for Blythswood.
- A team player – you recognise we’re in this together, donors, staff and partners, all with the same Christian commitment to change lives for good and forever.
