St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School, Blyth is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner to join our team as a Support Assistant on an initial fixed-term contract, full time 37hrs, term time plus training days. This role involves supporting the development of pupils and contributing to high-quality educational provision for learners. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Support Assistant to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support teaching and learning, helping pupils to achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive environment.
Job overview
You will be responsible for assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You will contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met. The opportunity is open to work within either Early Years, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
Job requirements
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
- Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
- Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
- Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
