I'm recruiting for a leading manufacturing business in Derbyshire — a well-established and growing company that plays a major role in the region’s economy. They’re now looking for a Pensions Accountant to join the company to help support the finance function. This is a key, specialist role where you’ll be responsible for the full accounting process relating to the company’s pension schemes, working closely with both the HR and wider finance teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of the pensions accounting for the organisation — offering autonomy, responsibility, and a supportive environment as part of a high-performing team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Preparing statutory accounts for the pension scheme and company disclosures
- Managing audit processes for both scheme and company pension reporting
- Posting and managing all accounting entries related to pensions, including payments and cashbooks
- Forecasting and supporting actuaries and finance with up-to-date reporting
- Liaising closely with third-party administrators, payroll, and internal finance teams
- Helping maintain and improve controls, reconciliations and monthly reporting
About You:
- ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified
- Strong technical accounting and statutory reporting background
- Comfortable working across functions and taking full ownership
- Prior audit experience and ability to liaise confidently with auditors
- Pensions experience is ideal but not essential — training can be given
- Experience working in industry is essential (not open to straight-from-practice candidates)
