Credit Controller / Finance Assistant

Nottingham Up to £30,000 6-Month FTC Hybrid Working

Blusource are recruiting for an established professional services firm in Nottingham looking to appoint a Credit Controller on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support their existing finance team.

This is a great opportunity for a Credit Controller who is immediately available or coming to the end of an assignment. The business would also welcome applications from Finance Assistants or Accounts Assistants with some exposure to credit control who are keen to develop their experience further.

Offering a salary of up to £30,000 and hybrid working after an initial training period, this could be an excellent opportunity for someone looking for their next position.

The Role

Working within an established finance team, you will help manage outstanding payments, maintain positive client relationships and support the wider credit control function.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Chasing outstanding payments through telephone and email correspondence.
  • Following established credit control procedures to manage overdue debt.
  • Recording payment commitments and following up where necessary.
  • Escalating complex queries or outstanding debts to the Credit Control Team Leader or Manager.
  • Maintaining accurate records of client communications and collection activity.
  • Supporting the production of client statements and credit control correspondence.
  • Liaising with colleagues across the business to resolve payment queries.

About You

Ideally, you will have previous credit control experience, although candidates from broader finance backgrounds with some exposure to debt collection will also be considered.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Previous credit control experience or exposure within a finance role.
  • Confident and professional telephone and email communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving queries.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Experience within professional services would be beneficial but is not essential.

What’s on Offer?

  • Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience.
  • Initial 6-month fixed-term contract.
  • Hybrid working, three days from home after approximately one month of office-based training.
  • Established finance team within a professional services environment.
  • Ideally an immediate start, ahead of the end of November.

If you are an experienced Credit Controller or a Finance Assistant looking to build on your experience, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
