A leading professional services firm are offering a rare and exciting job opportunity in Leicester, suited to a qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) from a practice background, who wants to develop a career in mergers and acquisitions / corporate finance focused work or is in this field already.

The firm will consider: - People already operating in corporate finance, transaction services or related advisory fields - Accountants from strong audit, accountancy or related backgrounds, in practice, plus they will consider those seeking a return to professional services after a spell in industry - The firm are seeking sufficient experience, so applications are encouraged from qualified accountants, ideally Manager to AD level, but strong Assistant Manager applications will be considered.

In core terms, the firm do mergers and acquisitions and handle related finance affairs, but they are involved in a wider variety and depth of work than some other, comparable operators.

Crucially, for people transferring across from other disciplines, the firm use no timesheets at all!

Employees are judged by outputs, not recording their time.

The firm are ideally seeking a qualified accountant, with them open to people who have suitable advisory experience, or people transferring across from audit, transaction services etc.

On the M A side, they are involved in buy side and sell-side advisory, getting underneath the numbers for a client, providing integrated forecasting, presenting profit and loss forecasts and business valuations, often done for the purposes of a lender.

This position involves no compliance, it is boutique M A and debt advisory, fast-paced and varied.

In very nice offices in Leicester, they are in the office, working as a team together, which is a priority for them.

Preparing integrated forecasts, presenting financial positions on IM, the firm are keen to secure someone who will open up a set of accounts and know what’s involved.

With the firm doing a lot of project work outside of the usual boundaries of M A, their work is some of the most varied available in the Midlands.

It is a busy but relaxed environment and in terms of reward, on top of a strong basic salary, there are discretionary bonuses which are generous and the Directors pay these intermittently, based on the firm’s success.

The firm are keen to support people through their own development, day to day, there is a real variety of work, “spinning multiple plates”, working on varied mandates.

Salary wise, they really are open, but it’s likely to land somewhere in the £50K to £75K basic area, plus the generous, discretionary bonuses on top, 25 days holiday bank hols, private medical etc.
