Overview

Group Financial Controller – Hinckley. Up to £65,000. Full time, office based.

For many qualified accountants, becoming a Financial Controller is the natural next step, but genuine opportunities to make that move don't come along very often.

This is one of them.

We're working with a rapidly expanding international business that has already established itself as a market leader and is now entering an exciting new phase of growth.

With ambitious plans to significantly increase turnover over the coming years, they're investing heavily in their people, systems and leadership team to build a finance function capable of supporting that journey.

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, this is an opportunity to take your first step into a Group Financial Controller position, giving you exposure well beyond a traditional Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant role.

You'll have the chance to influence the future of the finance function, support major business change and develop into a senior finance leader as the business continues to grow.

This is an environment for ambitious people who enjoy being challenged, embrace change and want to play a genuine part in shaping the future of a business, rather than simply maintaining the status quo.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of financial control across multiple entities, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and high-quality financial information for the wider business.
  • Lead the month end close and management reporting process.
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity and strengthen financial controls.
  • Support statutory accounts, audit and VAT compliance.
  • Manage and develop members of the finance team.
  • Support cashflow reporting and working capital improvements.
  • Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Play a key role in the ERP implementation.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Strong technical accounting skills and excellent Excel capability.
  • Ambition to step into a Financial Controller position.
  • Experience in a fast-paced commercial environment and exposure to ERP implementations is advantageous.
  • Attitude, resilience and a desire to learn are important.

If you're ready to take the next step in your finance career and want to grow alongside an ambitious business with significant plans for the future, we'd love to hear from you.
