Are you an experienced Payroll Administrator looking for a new challenge in a supportive, forward-thinking firm? An established and rapidly expanding accountancy practice in Brighton is looking to welcome a new Payroll Administrator to its friendly team.
Location: Brighton City Centre
Hours: Full time (37.5 hours). Flexible patterns considered — minimum 30 hours / 4 days per week.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a busy payroll function delivering accurate, timely payroll services for a wide variety of clients. This is a great role for someone who enjoys problem solving, client interaction and working with autonomy once trained.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner from start to finish
- Create and maintain payroll records
- Calculate part months & holiday
- Manage statutory payments
- Process P45’s
- Liaise with clients, clarifying calculations as necessary.
- Managing client pension schemes via multiple pension providers i.e. setting up and monthly uploading.
- Practice software packages used – Sage, STAR & Xero
Skills & Experience
- Previous payroll experience in accountancy practice
- Highly numerate with strong attention to detail
- Experienced in data entry and record keeping
- Competent with Excel and confident with IT systems
- Able to work methodically, multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Comfortable communicating with clients and colleagues
- Capable of working independently after initial training
- Reliable, trustworthy and organised
- Legally authorised to work in the UK
