We are excited to be recruiting for a new job vacancy with a firm of accountants based in Grantham, who are looking to hire a Tax Specialist. The firm offers flexibility in terms of the seniority of the role and can provide an excellent level of hybrid and flexible working for the right individual, once they have settled in and passed their probation. After an initial four to eight weeks working in the Grantham office, the role can become largely home-based. The firm supplies all the necessary equipment, including a laptop, additional screens, printer, mobile phone, etc. Full study support can be provided for ATT and, if required, CTA qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tax consultancy for clients, self-employed individuals, and property owners.
  • Conduct interviews via telephone and video call to complete self-assessment tax returns.
  • Analyse clients' tax affairs to calculate tax liabilities and advise on potential tax savings or legislative changes.
  • Monitor clients' business performance to forecast future tax liabilities.
  • Research complex cases by collaborating with team members and reviewing relevant tax legislation and double tax treaties to determine the correct tax position.
  • Plan workloads to meet deadlines and review processes to improve efficiency.
  • Audit and analyse clients' accounts following HMRC inquiries. Prepare written reports to support claims and detail relevant calculations.
  • Respond to tax-related queries, providing clear and concise advice to non-finance audiences.
  • Support, advise, and train other staff members as needed.
