We are working with a reputable and thriving professional services firm to recruit an experienced Legal Cashier on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a varied role within a busy, supportive finance team.
The Role
- You will play a key role in managing office and client account transactions, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Processing inbound payments for office and client accounts.
- Posting transactions to client ledgers using the practice management system.
- Issuing bills, cheques and processing BACS payments.
- Bank reconciliations, VAT returns, bookkeeping and month-end reporting.
- Managing payment exceptions and liaising with finance and legal teams.
- Maintaining accurate electronic filing of transactional documentation.
- Managing the Cashiers team mailbox and supporting wider finance duties.
- Applying delegated discretion in line with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a legal cashier or legal accounts role.
- Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
- Experience with legal accounting and electronic banking systems.
- IT literate with good MS Excel and MS Word skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
