We are currently recruiting for a Junior / Semi Senior Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice, offering a varied role across accounts, audit, tax and VAT.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their practice experience, take on increasing responsibility and progress their career, with study support available towards a professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.

Your Role

Working as part of a team, you will be involved in the preparation of accounts and tax work for a varied portfolio of clients, whilst also gaining exposure to audit assignments.

As your experience develops, you will take on greater responsibility for managing client work, liaising directly with clients and supporting more junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing working papers and statutory accounts for limited companies
  • Preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships
  • Preparing tax computations and VAT returns
  • Assisting with or completing audit assignments, depending on experience
  • Liaising directly with clients to obtain records, resolve queries and request additional information
  • Reviewing accounts information and raising points for discussion with managers
  • Managing your own workload and working to agreed budgets and deadlines
  • Supporting junior members of the team where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate timesheets and monitoring time against budgets
  • Working as part of a wider team across a varied portfolio of client assignments
