Hybrid Working
Are you a strategic finance leader with a passion for building structure, driving transformation, and shaping a business during a period of rapid expansion? We are supporting a fast-growing organisation in Derbyshire that is undergoing significant change and now requires a commercially minded Finance Director to take full ownership of the finance function. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at a pivotal moment, moving from an entrepreneurial SME environment into a more robust, scalable, corporate structure.
The Opportunity
The business has grown at pace and with major growth has come further complexity: fragmented systems, legacy processes, and the need for strong, influential finance leadership. As the Finance Director, you will be taking the operational reins for finance and driving transformation across reporting, forecasting, compliance, controls, and team development. This is your chance to take an SME-built finance function and lead it into its next phase, taking ownership of a growing finance function and helping to shape it into a more structured, corporate setup as the business continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full finance function and oversee a growing multi-disciplinary team
- Transform existing SME processes into scalable, best-practice financial operations
- Strengthen internal controls, data accuracy, and financial governance
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-term financial planning and cash flow strategy
- Improve systems, implement automation, and enhance MI
- Partner with senior leadership and investors on strategic decision-making
- Prepare finance for future investment cycles and evolving reporting requirements
- Mentor and develop future finance leaders within the team
What We're Looking For
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with significant senior leadership experience
- Proven track record improving processes in a fast-growth or transformational environment
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence at board level
- Experience scaling finance functions from SME foundations
- Hands-on mindset combined with strategic thinking and team leadership
- Confident navigating change, complexity, and evolving investor expectations
Why This Role Stands Out
- Shape the finance function of a rapidly expanding organisation
- Hybrid working available
- Salary and package are reflective of the impact and scope of the role
- Join at the perfect moment to influence future investment, systems, and structure
