A growing and ambitious organisation is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its finance team in Syston. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or qualified accountant who is looking to take ownership of a key finance role within a business experiencing continued growth and investment. Reporting into a senior finance leader, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting decision making, and ensuring strong financial controls across the division. This role offers genuine progression opportunities, with a clear pathway towards Financial Controller level for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owning the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of management accounts.
- Preparing and posting journals including accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
- Producing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Delivering monthly reporting packs, variance analysis and financial commentary.
- Supporting forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Maintaining robust financial controls and assisting with VAT returns and compliance activities.
- Coaching and supporting junior finance team members.
- Contributing to finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
About You:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with study support available where required.
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar role with responsibility for month-end processes.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong Excel and systems skills, with a proactive and commercially minded approach.
