Part-Time Bookkeeper - Nottingham - Part-time - £28,000 – £35,000 FTE

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a part-time (3 full days or spread across 4/5 shorter days) standalone role where you can take ownership of the finance function in a friendly, growing SME?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established property business based just outside Nottingham city centre. This is an all-office-based role, ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit, team-oriented environment. The office is easily reached via public transport and also offers free on-site parking.

The Role

As the business’s sole Bookkeeper, you’ll play a key role in managing day-to-day finance operations while supporting the Managing Director and wider operations team. You’ll also work closely with an external accounting firm, providing accurate and timely information for financial reporting and compliance.

  • Bank and client account reconciliations
  • Sales and purchase ledger management
  • Processing invoices and payments
  • Maintaining accurate transactional records
  • Supporting monthly and year-end financial reporting by liaising with external accountants
  • Providing ad-hoc financial insight to support business decisions

This is a hands-on, varied role in a business that values accuracy, reliability and collaboration.

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being a dependable point of contact for all things finance within a small team. You’ll need to be organised, confident managing your own workload, and comfortable communicating with both internal stakeholders and external advisors.

  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Previous experience in a standalone or small-team finance role
  • Strong transactional finance knowledge
  • Proficient in bank and client account reconciliations
  • Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • Experience within the property or lettings sector would be an advantage, but is not essential.
