We are actively recruiting for an Accounts Administrator with a leading accountancy firm based in Peterborough. The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level. This role is for full-time applications only and will be an office-based role.
Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping & Accounts: Undertake day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients. Process financial transactions, invoices, payments and receipts accurately and efficiently. Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records. Assist with VAT returns, year-end information and other routine accounting tasks. Respond to routine client bookkeeping queries and liaise with clients as required.
- Payroll: Process weekly, fortnightly and/or monthly payrolls for clients. Calculate wages, deductions, statutory payments and pension contributions. Prepare and submit relevant payroll information and reports within required deadlines. Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records. Deal professionally with routine payroll queries from clients and employees.
- Office Administration & Client Services: Answer incoming telephone calls and deal with enquiries promptly and professionally. Welcome clients and visitors and provide reception cover. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and post. Maintain organised electronic and paper filing systems. Undertake general administrative duties, including data entry, scanning, photocopying and document preparation. Assist with office supplies and the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Provide general administrative and operational support to the accountancy team.
