The Company

Founded in 1604, Blundells is a co-educational independent school for pupils aged 11 to 18 years. Based in 90 acres of beautiful Devon countryside, Blundells fosters a friendly and open environment where both students and staff can thrive.

We are now looking for a Gardener to join us on a part-time, permanent basis, averaging 30 hours per week (working four days per week between March and October and three days per week between November and February).

The Role

As a Gardener, you will carry out a range of gardening and grounds maintenance tasks to ensure our estate is well-kept, attractive, and safe for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Your duties will include:

  • Irrigating seasonal plants and flower displays
  • Maintaining borders (weeding, deadheading, edging, etc.)
  • General nursery work and propagation
  • Pruning, mowing, strimming, and hedge trimming
  • Keeping the site clean, tidy, and presentable

About You

To be considered as a Gardener, you will need:

  • Gardening experience and/or a recognised horticultural qualification
  • Experience using machinery, mowers, or tractors
  • A genuine interest in horticulture and grounds maintenance
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work to a schedule
  • A valid driving licence (essential due to our location)
