Alphablocks is a growing media and educational brand, predominantly known for its award-winning shows Alphablocks and Numberblocks. With recent 'Blocks' shows Colourblocks and Wonderblocks now added to the roster, and with both digital, merchandise and licensing programs growing around the world, we are looking for a highly organised Brand Lead to join our team. Reporting into the Editorial Director and alongside the Managing Editor, you will be instrumental in overseeing global content for our leading preschool education brands across the “Blocks” shows.

You will partner with in-house teams to develop and deliver engaging brand content and documentation, develop effective working processes, and play an active role in communicating out to shareholders, as we grow the brands across key categories and regions globally. You will work with the editorial team to ensure that brand identity and values are adhered to around the world across all activations. Day to Day:

  • Support the Editorial Director in leading the Brand Editorial team and ensuring Alphablocks Ltd.'s commitment to educational impact, creativity, and global brand leadership.
  • Together with the Managing Editor, cover for the Editorial Director when needed.
  • In partnership with Blue-Zoo Licensing, engage global partners, aligning internal and external teams on brand activations.
  • Support Retail activities and opportunities as needed, working closely with the Blue-Zoo Licensing team.
  • Proactively communicate with all internal teams, production, broadcast, digital and licensing, to ensure up-to-date cohesive brand information is always available.
  • Proactively communicate and build great working relationships with Blue-Zoo Licensing, supporting their product development and engaging them with new developments across our brands.
  • Work with the Managing Editor on the creation of brand tools, guidelines, toolkits, and activations to support commercial and marketing functions globally.
  • Oversee execution of brand materials on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Alongside the Managing Editor, curate and capture all brand knowledge, building an internal library of brand-related information, educational understanding, and brand lore.
  • Work with our extensive library of images/assets and source new assets when required from our animation partner Blue-Zoo to support licensing, brand, and marketing campaigns.
  • Alongside the Managing Editor, work on editorial projects, using the rules we have in place, and apply this understanding to all content, balancing educational best practices with all the fun, humor, and excitement that is core to the 'Blocks’ world.
  • Know our brands and educational aims inside out and assist the Editorial Director and Managing Editor in embedding this knowledge, creating training resources, training internal teams, and supporting external stakeholders, to ensure that all activations fully align with brand guidelines.
  • Track industry trends, educational developments, and competitor products to inform content and brand strategy.
  • Work with key stakeholders to gather information and feedback on brand assets and use insights to enhance future materials.
  • Assist in sourcing new assets, when required, from our animation partner Blue-Zoo to support licensing, brand, and marketing campaigns.
  • Research and understand educational curricula for the global market to assist with development of new series and products.

About You Must Have:

  • Strong experience working with licensed children’s brands.
  • Commitment to helping children learn.
  • Strong experience in developing educational content and an excellent understanding of early years education.
  • Self-starter who can take initiative and work autonomously, while also supporting a dynamic team environment, actively sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to the changing needs of a growing company.
  • Organised, proactive, and confident with the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse and fast-paced workload.
  • Collaborative and communicative team player, skilled at building positive relationships and engaging effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with impeccable grammar and spelling.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in creating parent/teacher-facing content.
  • Basic design skills e.g., experience in Adobe suite and/or other software applications for creating rough visuals, layouts, and mock-ups.
