  • Collaborate with designers and strategists to bring creative ideas to life with smart, scalable digital solutions
  • Oversee technical delivery, ensuring quality and consistency across multiple projects
  • Review, assess and collaborate with back-end developers, understanding how front and back-end work fits together
  • Troubleshoot and optimise existing builds, maintaining high standards of accessibility and UX
  • Explore new tools and technologies to help shape the future of their digital work

You will need

  • Commercial front-end development experience in a digital agency or similar environment
  • Proven experience building WordPress sites (without drag‑and‑drop page builders) and working with WooCommerce
  • Solid understanding of UX and accessibility best practices
  • An ability to assess, understand and collaborate on back-end development work (you don’t need to be a back‑end engineer, but should be able to speak the same language)
  • A passion for creating exceptional digital experiences and improving how things are done
  • Clear communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with React Native for app development
  • Experience delivering React and Next.js solutions with headless CMS integrations.
  • Experience with NPM, Gulp or similar front‑end build tools
  • Exposure to DevOps or hosting environments (e.g. AWS, Vercel, Netlify, etc.)
  • Experience in digital project oversight or technical direction

Benefits include 25 Days holiday a year (holiday must be taken between Christmas and New Year), Free Parking, Onsite Yoga and Private Healthcare.

How to prepare for a job interview at Bluetree Recruits

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Bluetree Recruits uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
