We are working for a leading medical products company who are looking for a high-performing Regional Sales Manager to lead and grow the company’s commercial success across the North of the UK. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in the field, drives sales with energy and innovation and builds strong NHS relationships while delivering consistently against ambitious targets. This is a permanent hybrid role with regular visits to the Guildford HQ.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive sales performance across the North region, including territories managed by Sales Representatives, with full accountability for achieving regional revenue and growth targets.
- Set clear KPIs for the region and for individual reps, ensuring performance is monitored, reviewed and optimised through structured reporting and data-driven decision-making.
- Support reps on the ground through joint visits, key customer meetings and hands-on coaching to boost performance where needed.
- Develop and implement innovative sales methods to increase market penetration, improve customer engagement and accelerate adoption of company products.
- Train, coach, and develop new and existing reps using the companies Training Academy, ensuring consistent capability and high performance across the team.
- Build strong relationships with ICBs, Trusts, Medicines Management teams and formulary decision-makers to secure and maintain market access.
- Identify issues in underperforming areas and implement targeted action plans while maintaining momentum in established territories.
- Prepare and deliver regular performance reports to senior management, including KPI updates, sales forecasts and strategic recommendations.
- Develop and execute regional strategies aligned with national objectives, ensuring sustained growth and strong commercial outcomes.
- Bring forward innovative ideas to improve sales productivity, customer experience and competitive positioning.
- Regular travel across the region; full UK driving licence required.
Experience & Skills
- Extensive sales experience, ideally in medical devices, diabetes or chronic disease management, with a strong track record of driving sales growth and hitting targets.
- Demonstrated experience in setting KPIs, managing performance and using data to guide commercial decisions.
- Strong NHS knowledge, including ICB/ICS structures and formulary processes.
- Existing network of NHS/ICB contacts highly desirable.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience presenting performance updates to senior leadership.
- Experience coaching or leading sales teams, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Innovative, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously in a hybrid role.
