We’re looking for a Senior graphic designer to join our fast-paced in-house creative team for the trade printing arm of the business; Route 1 Print. A key role in our evolving strategy, you’ll be focused on elevating the brand through forward thinking design across digital and print channels. You’ll be on top of general design trends and principles, as well as gaining an understanding and appreciation for the print industry to create Marketing, brand building and storytelling campaigns. Working as part of the Marketing Creative team you will also collaborate with other departments within the business. Previous experience in the print industry is advantageous although not essential. You may be agency side, or in-house we don’t mind as long as you can demonstrate a track record of excellent design practice and process.
About the Position
£35,000 to £40,000. This position is office based 5 days a week at our office in Manvers, Rotherham Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm, flexible options available after probation.
As the Senior designer, you’ll be responsible for:
- Delivering visual design to support a variety of Marketing campaigns such as email, direct mail, press releases, magazine adverts, website assets and digital advertisements.
- Understanding a brief and providing excellent design solutions, taking projects from concept to execution, driving the brand further.
- Ensuring content, copy and creative are aligned.
- Putting the customer first and creating design with meaning.
- Being on top of design trends and how they can be applied to the business.
- Presenting ideas back to the broader business and be able to sell your ideas.
- Working with internal stakeholders, managing expectations and deadlines.
In addition, you are:
- Educated to HND or Degree level in graphic design or similar.
- An experienced designer, with 3 years minimum working in a similar role.
- A self-starter with exceptional communication skills.
- A natural problem solver, always providing solutions.
- Naturally curious and on top of design trends, in both print and digital.
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Knowledge of XD, HTML and digital design is a bonus.
- Detail oriented with a strong understanding of typography and layout principles.
- Able to understand a brief and be able to generate work that answers it.
- A team player with a positive outlook.
- Able to juggle multiple projects while working to fast paced deadlines.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding, and application of data driven design decisions.
