Join a dedicated team and play a key role in delivering essential flood and coastal risk management projects and maintaining assets. With a team of approximately twenty professionals, this is your opportunity to lead impactful work and make a real difference.

Ideally you will:

  • Have expertise in flood and coastal risk management
  • Thrive in a leadership role and enjoy mentoring and motivating a team to achieve their best
  • Have a strong background in managing large-scale, complex engineering programmes
  • Possess financial management skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Have in-depth knowledge of legislation including the Flood and Water Management Act, the Land Drainage Act, the Coastal Protection Act, and the CDM Regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the Flood and Coastal Risk Management Team, overseeing team performance and development
  • Delivering complex engineering and flood and coastal risk management projects, ensuring that they meet cost, quality, and time requirements
  • Acting as the primary contact for flood and coastal risk management and providing authoritative advice on design and project delivery
  • Coordinating resources and collaborating with emergency services and other flood risk management authorities during and after flood events to ensure an effective response
  • Managing and controlling project budgets to ensure value for money whilst adhering to financial limits
