The Role:
Are you passionate about working with people and helping them grow and feel connected, heard and valued? Do you enjoy having varied tasks and organising impactful solutions, activities and events? If the answer is 'yes', then we have a great opportunity for a People Development and Engagement professional to join our People Team. People development and staff engagement are a key commitment to the people of this University's Students' Union and are at the core of our people strategic plan and all our practices. This role will be essential in supporting how we identify, deliver and measure our development offer to ensure our staff team are enabled and empowered to deliver excellent services and products to our members. This role will also oversee and continue developing our digital learning content, including our learning management system, and bespoke performance support materials so that development opportunities are engaging, relevant and available at the point of need for our staff teams and volunteers. This role will also co-lead and develop our internal communications channel and our staff engagement initiatives (relating to recognition and voice) so that our staff team feel well informed, motivated and proud to work at this University's Students' Union.
About You:
It is essential that the successful candidate has up-to-date knowledge and experience of learning and development practice as well as designing, delivering and measuring innovative development solutions. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships and interact with colleagues, managers and external stakeholders. You will also have experience of producing, curating and procuring development content and opportunities to enable performance excellence and transformation. Planning, communication and problem-solving skills are crucial to be able to work effectively in the delivery of solutions and working with people at all levels of the organisation. You will have a good level of ability using a learning management system, Office 365 suite and a range of digital tools for development and engagement. It would be of benefit to have previous experience of staff communications and engagement, or strong interest to develop in this area. You will be committed to and have passion for the values of this University Students' Union and the provision of excellent service to the people of the organisation.
