Join a dedicated team and play an important role in the design, development, and delivery of critical coastal engineering and maintenance projects that reduce the risk to our community and strengthen resilience against environmental challenges. Ideally you will:

  • Have expertise in coastal engineering and maintenance
  • Have knowledge of contract and project management techniques, including cost and quality control
  • Be proficient in relevant computer software, including AutoCAD, GIS mapping systems, and other coastal engineering tools
  • Have a strong understanding of national and local standards and legislation, including the Coastal Protection Act, Marine and Coastal Access Act, Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) guidelines, and CDM regulations
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to provide technical expertise and recommendations on complex coastal engineering issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on various coastal engineering projects whilst overseeing and supervising contractors' work to ensure quality, cost, and time requirements are met
  • Working with external bodies, contractors, and stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues, and align projects with broader goals
  • Designing and delivering coastal construction and maintenance schemes from concept to completion
  • Analysing coastal trends and developing practical solutions to enhance resilience.
