We’re looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join our growing engineering team, focused on developing and validating next-generation electronic systems for space. In this role, you’ll play a key part in testing and verifying complex PCB assemblies, semiconductor devices, and embedded hardware components, ensuring optimal performance and reliability from prototype through to production. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong foundation in electronics, proficiency in software tools and instrumentation, and a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and procedures for PCBs, semiconductors, and electronic components
  • Perform component- and board-level diagnostics using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and other lab equipment
  • Write test scripts and control instrumentation using VISA API and C++
  • Analyse test data, identify trends, and provide detailed reports with recommendations
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and design teams to resolve technical issues and improve test coverage
  • Perform precision soldering and rework on SMT and through-hole boards as required

Experience

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience in PCB design and testing, including schematics and layout understanding
  • Good working knowledge of semiconductor testing, failure analysis, and device behaviour
  • Strong experience with instrument control and automation using VISA API and C++
  • Ability to analyse large sets of data and present findings clearly and concisely
  • Skilled in hands-on lab work, including fine-pitch soldering and board rework
  • Familiarity with electronic test tools (e.g., multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers)
  • Exposure to EMC testing and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of FPGA or microcontroller-based systems
