As a Ground Segment Systems Engineer, you will take ownership of ground segment development, from initial concept to ongoing operations. This high-responsibility role offers autonomy, the opportunity to mentor team members, and the chance to shape mission‑critical ground systems. In this position, you will drive the development and integration of Mission Control Systems, Mission Planning Systems, and Ground Stations Interface Systems. Acting as a key technical authority, you will define requirements, manage supplier interactions, and ensure smooth collaboration between mission design and operational teams. Working in an Agile (SCRUM) environment, you will contribute to system verification, validation, and real‑time operational activities at the control centre.
Responsibilities
- Lead & develop mission‑critical ground systems, ensuring seamless operations.
- Define & manage requirements for the entire ground segment and its components.
- Act as a Product Owner/Technical Officer, liaising with external suppliers and supporting internal development teams.
- Bridge the gap between the Mission & Systems and Operations teams.
- Maintain project documentation, including verification & validation plans and test procedures.
- Participate in mission operations, ensuring success at the control centre.
Experience
- BSc in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in satellite ground systems engineering.
- Strong expertise in Mission Control Systems (preferably SCOS‑2000), Mission Planning, and Ground Segment Architecture.
- Deep understanding of space mission design, development processes, and standard milestones.
- Proficiency in requirements engineering, system integration, verification, and validation.
