We’re looking for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the development of advanced satellite telecommunication payloads. This is a chance to work at the cutting edge of space technology, contributing to innovative solutions for high-reliability applications in orbit.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop FPGA/ASIC-based GEO satellite payloads
- Lead hardware development throughout the full product lifecycle—from specification and design through to testing and validation
- Undertake detailed circuit design including schematic capture, component selection, and electronic simulation
- Produce engineering analysis and documentation (Derating, Worst Case, Reliability, Radiation, EMI/EMC Analysis, FMECA, Power Budget)
- Support hardware/software/system integration, test, validation, and qualification
- Direct in-house and third-party PCB layout design teams
- Deliver both prototype and production-quality manufacturing packages
Experience
- Strong commercial experience in hardware product design within the space industry
- Expertise in high-speed digital design and SerDes interconnects
- Strong understanding of LEO/GEO communications payloads
- Proven experience designing complex, high-speed circuits on high-density, multi-layer (10+) PCBs
- Proficiency with circuit and PCB design/simulation tools
- Specialist knowledge in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
- High-reliability design and analysis (Space, Military, Automotive, etc.)
- RF design and validation
- Radiation effects on electronic circuitry and mitigation techniques
- DC/DC power supply design
- Environmental, thermal, safety, and EMI/EMC standards
- Practical use of scripting languages (Tcl, Python, Perl, etc.)
