Our client who is one of the largest 3PL companies in the UK and Europe are currently looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join our team working on the afternoon shift, working from 2:00pm to 10:00pm. This role is ideal for a Transport Planner who is organised, calm under pressure, and enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and coordinating daily transport routes and schedules
- Managing drivers and subcontractors during the afternoon/evening shift
- Monitoring vehicle movements and responding to delays or issues
- Ensuring compliance with drivers’ hours and transport regulations
- Communicating effectively with customers, drivers, and internal teams
- Updating transport systems and maintaining accurate records
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in transport planning or logistics (preferred but not essential)
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good communication and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Confident using transport management systems and Microsoft Office
