Bluestones Supply Chain are looking for a Yard Manager to work with our client in Kilmarnock.

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:30; Every second Saturday, 08:00 - 12:00; Additional overtime as required during busy periods.

We are recruiting on behalf of a long-established and highly respected builders merchant for a Yard Manager to lead their Kilmarnock operation. This is not a role for someone who simply maintains the status quo. We are looking for a strong leader who takes pride in high standards, runs a disciplined and organised yard, and leads by example.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a busy yard environment, developing teams, and ensuring operations run efficiently, safely, and to a consistently high standard.

The Role:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the yard operation
  • Lead, motivate and develop the yard team
  • Maintain exceptional standards of housekeeping, organisation and safety
  • Ensure stock is handled, stored and dispatched efficiently
  • Drive productivity and accountability across the team
  • Deliver excellent service to both customers and internal departments
  • Take ownership of yard performance and continuously look for improvements

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience managing a builders merchant, distribution, warehouse or yard operation
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to gain the respect of their team
  • High personal standards and attention to detail
