About the Role
Bluestones Medical Nursing Agency is currently recruiting experienced A&E Nurses to work within the Emergency Department at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Emergency Department Nurses looking for flexible agency work within a busy major acute hospital environment. The successful candidate will provide safe, compassionate and high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of urgent and emergency medical conditions and injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within the A&E / Emergency Department.
- Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and prioritise patient care according to clinical need.
- Assess, monitor and care for patients presenting with acute medical conditions and traumatic injuries.
- Recognise and respond promptly to changes in a patient's condition.
- Escalate clinical concerns and patient deterioration appropriately.
- Safely administer medications and treatments in line with professional and clinical guidelines.
- Carry out clinical procedures within your scope of practice and level of competence.
- Assist with the care and management of acutely unwell and critically ill patients.
- Support the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of patients attending the Emergency Department.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, AHPs and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Provide effective handovers to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, relatives and carers.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures.
- Comply with Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
- Ensure all care is delivered in accordance with the NMC Code and professional standards.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Recent and relevant experience working within an A&E, Emergency Department or equivalent acute setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency nursing skills.
- Experience caring for patients with a wide range of urgent and emergency conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure clinical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and patient-focused care.
- Current mandatory training relevant to the role.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Satisfactory compliance and employment checks.
