About the Role
- Bluestones Medical is currently recruiting an experienced
- Band 6 General Nurse Manager to work within the same Trust at
Salisbury District Hospital .
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with strong management, leadership and employee relations experience to take on a predominantly managerial role within a hospital environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the effective management of staff and teams, with a particular focus on employee relations, staff management, performance, conduct and workplace issues .
The role offers the flexibility to work from home, although the successful candidate must live within a commutable distance of the hospital , as attendance at the office will be required approximately
1-2 days per week , alongside any other meetings or operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management and coordination of staff within the hospital environment.
- Provide professional support and guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters.
- Manage and support formal and informal employee relations processes.
- Assist with the management of disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance matters.
- Support investigations into workplace concerns, complaints and employee issues.
- Provide advice and guidance in line with relevant employment policies and procedures.
- Work closely with HR and senior management teams to ensure appropriate processes are followed.
- Support the management of sickness absence and long-term absence cases.
- Assist with performance management and capability processes.
- Provide advice and support regarding conduct, performance and workplace behaviour.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records relating to employee relations matters.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and documentation relating to employee cases.
- Attend and support meetings, including employee relations meetings, investigations and formal hearings where appropriate.
- Promote positive employee relations and a supportive workplace culture.
- Support the resolution of workplace issues and conflicts.
- Ensure all matters are dealt with fairly, consistently and confidentially.
- Support the implementation and interpretation of relevant Trust policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with HR, clinical managers and wider operational teams.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to staff and managers.
- Contribute to service improvement and the development of effective workforce processes.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Previous experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent.
- Experience in a clinical management, nursing management or healthcare leadership role.
- Strong experience managing staff and teams within a healthcare environment.
- Proven experience dealing with employee relations matters.
- Experience supporting disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance processes.
- Excellent understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a wider management team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Must live within a commutable distance of Salisbury District Hospital.
- Must be able to attend the office approximately 1-2 days per week.
- Right to work in the UK.
