Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) to work within mental health services across Lancashire.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Mental Health Nurses looking for flexible agency work across a range of healthcare settings.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals experiencing a variety of mental health conditions and needs.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery, maintain patient safety and support individuals in achieving the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate and person-centred nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Complete comprehensive mental health assessments and contribute to individualised care planning.
- Monitor and assess patients' mental and physical health.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a patient\'s presentation or level of risk.
- Administer medication safely and monitor its effectiveness and potential side effects.
- Support patients experiencing mental health crises and acute episodes of illness.
- Carry out risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans.
- Support the implementation of therapeutic interventions and recovery-focused care.
- Promote patient independence, dignity and involvement in their care.
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records.
- Contribute to the safe management of challenging behaviour where appropriate.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Support the prevention and management of incidents in accordance with relevant policies.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and colleagues.
- Comply with all relevant clinical policies, procedures and professional standards.
- Ensure all care is delivered in accordance with the NMC Code.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- Recent and relevant experience working within a mental health setting.
- Experience caring for individuals with a range of mental health conditions.
- Strong knowledge of mental health assessment and risk management.
- Ability to work effectively in challenging and sometimes high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and recovery-focused care.
- Current mandatory training relevant to the role.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Satisfactory compliance and employment checks.
