Role Description
Bluestones Medical is currently seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to support two established GP practices in Carlisle, with a strong focus on Women’s Health.
Immediate availability is ideal, with the opportunity to support the practices on a temporary locum basis.
Duties may include:
- Cervical screening
- Coil fitting and removal, where appropriately trained and competent
- Contraceptive implant fitting and removal, where appropriately trained and competent
- Supporting patients with contraception and wider Women’s Health needs
- General Practice Nursing duties
- Supporting long-term condition management
- Health promotion and patient education
- Clinical observations and assessments
- Accurate clinical documentation and record keeping
- Working collaboratively with GPs and the wider primary care team
This is an on-site role in Carlisle, with flexibility required to support the needs of the practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
- Recent Practice Nursing experience within General Practice or Primary Care
- Strong Women’s Health experience
- Current cervical screening competency
- Relevant competency and experience in coil and/or contraceptive implant fitting and removal
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously within your professional scope of practice
- Good understanding of safeguarding, infection prevention and clinical governance
- Strong documentation and IT skills
- Flexibility to support practice requirements
- Immediate availability is highly desirable
