An established and growing residential builder is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead their estimating function. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement across the full estimating lifecycle. Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of team output, pricing strategy, systems, and process optimisation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with margin targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the end-to-end estimating function across: Sales Estimating & BOQs, Sales Pricing & Variations, Production Estimating
- Oversee tender preparation and review for new projects from concept through to pre-construction
- Manage and mentor a team of estimators, driving performance, accountability, and development
- Ensure accuracy of costings and alignment with margin targets
- Maintain and continuously improve pricing systems, databases, and workflows
- Monitor market trends across labour and materials, identifying risks and cost-saving opportunities
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and team capability
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager role within residential construction
- Strong knowledge of House & Land / volume building estimating processes
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop teams
- High level of attention to detail with a strong commercial mindset
- Experience across BOQs, sales estimating, production estimating, and cost control
- Strong systems capability (e.g. Databuild, ClickHome or similar)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
