Position Description

As the Senior Industry Liaison Manager for the Global Data Marketplace (GDM), you will be the Europe-facing coordinator and subject matter expert for onboarding commercial industry from across the 32 NATO member nations into the GDM.

You will manage the full lifecycle of vendor engagement, from initial market outreach and coordination with national space organisations, through vendor registration and onboarding pipeline execution, to sustained industry liaison support, ensuring NATO visibility of the commercial space domain awareness (SDA) marketplace.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate with national space organisations and industry liaison points across the 32 NATO member nations to identify, engage and recruit commercial SDA vendors for participation in the GDM.
  • Facilitate vendor registration and entry into the GDM onboarding pipeline, guiding companies through participation requirements, registration processes and onboarding milestones, from first contact through to active marketplace participation.
  • Educate national industry on GDM participation, including marketplace mechanics, data rights considerations, and the pathways by which commercial SDA products and services reach NATO and coalition consumers.
  • Document vendor participation and maintain accurate onboarding records, pipeline status and vendor engagement histories, to support NATO visibility of the commercial SDA marketplace.
  • Extend NATO's market reach beyond existing Joint Commercial Operations (JCO) and United States engagements by representing the GDM to NATO organisations and military forums, including international conferences, commander summits and NATO committee meetings.
  • Own an assigned portfolio of vendor relationships, serving as the senior liaison between vendors and GDM programme management, engineering and data teams, coordinating technical onboarding requirements and resolving vendor integration issues.
  • Provide functional direction and mentorship to the SDA Landscape Liaisons, serving as the senior point of accountability for the industry onboarding team.
  • Develop and execute national and regional industry engagement strategies, prioritising outreach by market maturity, capability relevance and Alliance demand signals.
  • Coordinate with JCO commercial integration counterparts to deconflict and complement existing United States and JCO industry engagements, ensuring a unified approach to shared vendors.
  • Track and report onboarding pipeline metrics, vendor participation trends and marketplace growth to GDM leadership and NATO stakeholders.
  • Develop talking points, briefings and coordinated positions for NATO committees, national delegations and senior stakeholders regarding industry participation in the GDM.
  • Maintain working knowledge of GDM operational currency, marketplace offerings and commercial SDA market developments across the Alliance.
  • What We Are Looking For

Our ethos is Think, Serve, Lead. In addition, you will have

  • JCO 100 certification, or the ability to obtain it on assignment.
  • Industry engagement experience in a national or multinational defence or space environment, with a working understanding of how national industry ecosystems operate.
  • NATO acquisition and industry engagement experience, including familiarity with NATO procurement structures and national delegations.
  • Strategic SDA vendor outreach experience, including engagement at chief executive and technical leadership level.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial industry outreach, vendor management or business development within the space or defence sectors.
  • Working knowledge of space domain awareness concepts and the commercial SDA market.
  • Superior written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to draft briefings, talking points and stakeholder communications for senior military and civilian audiences.
  • A highly motivated self-starter, capable of independent execution across multiple concurrent national and industry stakeholder relationships.
  • Eight or more years in industry engagement, international acquisition, business development or space and defence commercial markets.
  • A degree is welcome, and equivalent professional experience carries equal weight
  • This position is open to citizens of any NATO member nation who hold a nationally recognised right to work in the United Kingdom, and a clear route to NATO SECRET clearance.

We can sponsor clearance for eligible candidates.

  • Availability to travel to Europe approximately twice a month, five days per trip, from September 2026 to February 2027, including conferences and events
  • Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with the GDM, JCO, and their relationships with NATO, United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) and national space organisations.
  • Experience with vendor onboarding pipelines, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, or similar engagement-tracking and management tools.
  • Experience working with NATO committees, NATO agencies such as the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA), or national delegations.
  • Regional expertise or foreign language proficiency relevant to an assigned nation portfolio.
  • Experience with commercial data licensing, data rights or marketplace business models.
  • Prior experience in joint, coalition or multinational working environments.
  • A current NATO SECRET clearance.
  • A Chartered Management Institute (CMI) qualification, or a recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or Association for Project Management (APM).

Growth potential is valued as highly as track record.

  • Prior military, intelligence or government service.
