Role Purpose: We are seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented, and thoughtful finance leader to inspire, develop, and grow our Finance team. Reporting to the UK CFO, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, lead a growing team, and play a key role in supporting Curve through a period of rapid growth and delivery of several high-impact finance initiatives. This role carries a strong emphasis on financial controls and the integrity of Curve’s financial records. As the gatekeeper of the company’s books, you will be responsible for ensuring the balance sheet is fully substantiated on a monthly basis, with all financial information being robust, accurate, and compliant. This requires a meticulous, hands-on approach, with the ability to get deeply involved in the details where needed. While the primary focus is on maintaining the integrity of Curve’s books, you will also be part of a commercially focused finance team with responsibilities across financial reporting, regulatory compliance, tax, and strategic initiatives including fundraising and M&A. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to shaping the company’s future direction and financial strategy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Deputising for the UK CFO regularly and a leader within this team and the business. Supporting the UK CFO and working closely with the Group CFO on specific topics and in developing the Finance function, identifying the critical elements of the Finance blueprint and maturing the overall operating model for Finance. Building and maintaining strong relationships with auditors, regulators, advisors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Financial Management & Reporting: Taking responsibility for preparing our annual report and accounts, monthly consolidated financial statements and our monthly entity packs. Managing and delivering on our regulatory reporting commitments, across a number of different jurisdictions and regulators (including the UK FCA and Bank of Lithuania). Ensure Curve is fully compliant with all applicable financial regulation e.g. tax and regulatory reporting requirements. Develop and maintain robust financial controls and reporting systems.
  • Team Leadership: Managing, supporting and developing more junior members of the team to actively train and improve staff knowledge and empower colleagues to take the next step in their career.
  • Automation and Innovation: Designing, building and implementing fit-for-purpose financial systems to support and automate our reporting and MI and manage increasing complexity of the group.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning process, providing financial insights and recommendations. Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration.
  • Risk Management: Identify and proactively manage all financial control risks, which may impact the business objectives. Ensure compliance with financial controlling policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred. ACA/ACCA or CIMA Qualified (or equivalent) with 8+ years PQE Qualification at Big 4 is a must.
  • Experience: Relevant industry experience within Fintech, Financial Services, Payments is a must. Solid experience at Financial Controller level, to include: people management, advanced technical accounting (under IFRS and UK GAAP), and commercially-focused budget management. Experience managing reporting across multiple geographies and building and integrating systems to support international expansion required. Experience establishing new processes and procedures in short timeframes and clear track record of simplifying existing processes. Experience with multiple financial accounting systems (preferably NetSuite) and rapid iteration/agile working would also be highly desirable. Familiarity with the implementation of COSO/SOX-compliant control framework & US GAAP (nice to have).
  • Skills: Excellent planning, organisation and time-management skills, as well as ability to multitask and lead several projects in a dynamic environment. Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent stakeholder management skills across a range of functional areas. Excellent coaching skills with the ability to provide empathy and guidance to the other members of the finance team and ensuring their continuing development. Experience in a growth-stage company, ideally in the financial technology space.
