We are looking for a SQL Server developer who can join our client's development team. This is a Home-Based role. We are looking for someone with experience in T-SQL development. Your time will be spent working on development projects for our customers, supporting technical enquiries from our service desk and proactive DBA activities to keep the platforms running smoothly. This role would be ideal for an IT Graduate with 1 year’s experience in a SQL Developer role. There may be some very occasional travel within the UK.

The position offers a great opportunity to develop within an established business. We believe in empowering our team to look after their assignments throughout the entire lifecycle which gives exposure to more than just development; you could be asked to talk to customers about their requirements, support testing and UAT activities and deploy your work into production - the role is varied. The role is remote and your normal place of work will be your home address with the possibility of occasional travel to client sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities:

  • T-SQL development
  • Report development in SSRS
  • ETL development using SSIS
  • Following development processes including keeping source control updated
  • Basic asp.net web development
  • Supporting system testing and resolving defects
  • Putting together test documentation, deployment plans
  • Resolving support incidents
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest technologies

Skills:

You are a highly motivated individual with good technical skills. The role requires the following specific skills:

  • Experience of MS SQL Server
  • Writing complex T-SQL
  • Report development (ideally in SSRS, or in a Business Intelligence Environment)
  • ETL development (ideally in SSIS)
  • Previous experience of using ASP.net (VB.net) - not essential
  • Experience of Source control and DevOps would be a bonus
  • Any knowledge of Power BI would be useful

Your normal working hours will be 35 per week between 9am - 5 pm Monday to Friday excluding English Bank Holidays. This is a varied and interesting role offering good career development, suitable for a developer keen to further their career. To £30,000 benefits including 4% contributory pension, 25 days holiday.
