Are you an experienced Business Systems Analyst with a passion for learning technology, digital platforms and business transformation? We're looking for a Business Systems Analyst to play a key role in the evolution of a modern learning technology ecosystem. Working across multiple Learning Management Systems (LMS), you'll help shape the future of digital learning by analysing current capabilities, improving business processes and supporting the delivery of innovative platform solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a strategic transformation programme where your analysis and recommendations will directly influence the future direction of enterprise learning platforms.
The Role
You'll work closely with business stakeholders, developers, product owners and project teams to understand how learning platforms support learners, tutors and operational teams. Using your business analysis expertise, you'll document existing functionality, map business processes and system integrations, identify opportunities for improvement and help define future-state platform capabilities. You'll also have the opportunity to use emerging AI technologies to accelerate discovery, requirements gathering, solution design and rapid prototyping.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse how existing Learning Management Systems support business operations and learner journeys.
- Facilitate workshops and gather requirements from a wide range of stakeholders.
- Document platform functionality, business processes, user journeys and system integrations.
- Map data flows and dependencies across learning platforms and wider business systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve learner experience, operational efficiency and platform capability.
- Produce user stories, functional specifications, process maps and solution documentation.
- Assess current platforms against future business needs and contribute to strategic platform roadmaps.
- Evaluate enhancement, consolidation and replacement options where appropriate.
- Use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude and ChatGPT to support analysis, wireframing, prototyping and solution design.
- Work closely with developers and technical teams to translate business requirements into practical solutions.
- Support project delivery through discovery, design, testing, implementation and business readiness.
What We're Looking For
You'll have experience working as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Product Analyst or Solution Analyst, with a strong understanding of Learning Management Systems and business applications. You'll also bring:
- Experience working with enterprise Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Knowledge of platforms such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Brightspace, Totara, Bud or similar learning technologies.
- Strong business analysis, requirements gathering and process mapping skills.
- Experience documenting platform functionality, integrations and data flows.
- Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
- Experience working alongside developers and technical delivery teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience supporting projects throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
- An interest in AI-assisted analysis, prototyping and solution design.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in any of the following would be advantageous: Education, training or professional services environments.
- CRM, CMS and reporting platforms.
- Platform consolidation or digital transformation programmes.
- Wireframing, mock-ups and product concepts.
- Microsoft Power Platform, workflow automation or low-code technologies.
