We’re looking for a hands-on DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to join an established infrastructure team during a significant programme of work. The team is currently upgrading 40+ customers onto a new DevOps infrastructure, so this is a great opportunity to get involved in a substantial migration programme while helping to improve automation, security, reliability and day-to-day infrastructure operations. Security is a key focus, with the team working towards 24/7 patching through increased automation and improved processes. You’ll need to be someone who can balance technical delivery with security and customer impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Play a leading hands-on role in migrating 40+ customers onto the DevOps platform
  • Build, automate and improve AWS infrastructure
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
  • Work with containers, orchestration and troubleshooting
  • Support Linux infrastructure and PostgreSQL
  • Manage load balancers including AWS ALB, NGINX and Apache
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, including memory faults and server crashes
  • Manage Active Directory, SSL certificates and secure communications
  • Support networking across AWS, including VPCs, IGWs, NAT Gateways and security groups
  • Contribute to monitoring and observability using Grafana
  • Support infrastructure maintenance, migrations, patching, audit and compliance activity
  • Work collaboratively within an Agile / sprint-based environment

There will be occasional out-of-hours and Sunday work for activities such as maintenance, migrations and patching, with time off in lieu provided.

  • Strong DevOps / Infrastructure experience with an automation mindset
  • Solid AWS experience
  • Strong Linux administration skills
  • Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code experience
  • Experience with containers and orchestration
  • PostgreSQL experience
  • Networking and load-balancing knowledge
  • Experience with SSL certificates and endpoint management
  • Grafana / observability experience
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine commitment to security and good infrastructure practices

Desirable: Rackspace, VMDK, Intune, Purview, Viva, AI in infrastructure, ISO 27001 / SOC 1 and previous audit experience.
