Are you ready to join one of the UK's leading Apparel License suppliers? This is a role that is not to be missed! We are seeking a motivated Senior Sales Account Manager to join the design team based in either our Maldon office in Essex or our Royton Office in Oldham.
Who are we?: The Blues Group is one of the UK's leading Apparel License suppliers. Our brands and what we do is pretty specialised. We have 5 different divisions that make up our group: Dennicci (Babywear), Blues Clothing (Toddler Daywear), Blues Nightwear (Kids & Adult Nightwear), Blues Dressing up, and Brecrest (Baby & Teen Sportswear). As a license supplier, we have the privilege to work with some amazing licenses such as Disney, Bluey, Peppa Pig & Peter Rabbit.
So, what will the role involve, and what will you do? This position reports directly to the Divisional Sales Director and collaborates closely with the broader Design team, Production and Finance teams across our offices. This role is centred around building, maintaining and growing relationships with our customers to maximise sales objectives in terms of value, volume, delivery and profitability while ensuring high levels of customer and supplier satisfaction.
The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and sales skills, as well as a deep understanding of the products and services being offered. This includes accountability for driving sales growth that delivers optimal margins, while consistently upholding the highest standards of design, service, and quality in line with the Group's expectations.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Acquire new business with potential customers, further develop and retain business with existing customers.
- Organise and attend new and existing customer meetings throughout the UK to maximise sales opportunities.
- Develop customer account plans and strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and gross margin targets.
- Identify opportunities for open-to-buys and expanding product or service offerings to existing customers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with factories and customers.
- Prepare sales forecasts through the Group System to track progress and performance.
- Raise customer orders on the Group System.
- Lead Handover meetings with Design & Production teams.
- Provide weekly updates to the Divisional Sales Director on account status, best and worst sellers, new sales, new business, cancellations and strategy to replace lost sales.
- Attend weekly sales meetings led by the Divisional Sales Director and Group Sales & Design Director.
- Communicate seasonal key messages and budget plans to the design team ahead of each season, including insights on best and worst sellers, high-volume lines, key licenses, and new opportunities.
- Provide the design team with timely updates on new licenses and emerging opportunities.
- Represent the business at licensing trade shows alongside customers to support relationship-building and market awareness.
- Collaborate on licensing decks, ensuring they are accurate and updated with relevant information ahead of license meetings.
- Manage sales forecasts for licensors in partnership with the License Lead, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, contracts, and sales growth/decline activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for sales-related customer enquiries & requests.
- Understand customers' needs and business objectives to provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Ensure that customers and suppliers receive timely and accurate information about costings, orders and product updates.
- Liaise with Merchandisers to ensure effective administration of orders.
