Sessional Lecturer Criminology

The School for Vocational and Technical Studies at South Thames College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Criminology lecturer to deliver outstanding teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students to maximize achievement and continuous improvement.

You will play a key role in supporting curriculum development with employer engagement and learner skills development. You will select appropriate assessment methods, assess student work and progress against criteria, and provide constructive feedback.

Applicants should be qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification, and have recent teaching experience in Criminology within an FE College. A successful record of tutoring, supporting learners, and implementing target setting, monitoring, and reviewing progress is essential. Strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment is required.

Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of current frameworks for teaching, learning, assessment, and quality assurance, with effective employer engagement experience. Interdisciplinary skills, advanced computer literacy, and excellent presentation, delivery, and time management skills are also necessary.
