The School for Vocational and Technical Studies at South Thames College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Criminology lecturer to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development, selecting appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assessing the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and providing constructive feedback to students.
We look for a candidate who is qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject, holds a teaching qualification (or is willing to work towards one) and has recent teaching experience in Criminology in an FE College. A successful record of tutoring and supporting learners, and of setting and implementing target setting, monitoring and reviewing progress, demonstrates outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
With strong working knowledge of current framework for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance, the candidate will bring interdisciplinary skills and experience with an advanced level of computer literacy and general office software management skills. Effective presentation, delivery and time management skills for a variety of audiences, the ability to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines are required.
