A Senior Civil Engineer to lead and deliver civil/structural engineering work within its UK Transmission & Distribution practice. The role involves taking technical ownership of projects from concept through design, construction, and close-out, while providing leadership, client engagement, and business support.
Responsibilities
- Lead civil/structural design for T&D projects from concept to completion
- Prepare specifications, reports, studies, cost estimates, and construction documents
- Review vendor drawings and coordinate with clients, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, change control, and QA/QC
- Support construction activities, including field inspections and resolving site issues
- Ensure compliance with UK standards, CDM 2015, Temporary Works, and client procedures
- Build and maintain client relationships; support business development and bids
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
- Ensure safety, quality, and effective cross-discipline communication
Qualifications
- BEng or MSc in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Established civil/structural design experience
- Strong experience with UK power clients (National Grid, SSEN, SPEN)
- Proficiency in CAD/BIM, structural analysis tools, and MS Office
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
