An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major coastal infrastructure and marine engineering projects. This Quantity Surveyor role is ideal for someone with around 1-2 years' post-graduate experience who is looking to develop their commercial career within a supportive project team. Working alongside an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll gain exposure to all aspects of project commercial management while contributing to the successful delivery of nationally significant coastal defence works.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will play an important role in supporting commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle while developing towards greater responsibility.
The Role
- Supporting the commercial management of major coastal infrastructure projects
- Assisting with subcontract procurement and subcontractor management
- Preparing and processing valuations, invoices and payment applications
- Producing cost reports and monitoring project expenditure
- Managing timesheets and labour cost records
- Assisting with compensation events and change management
- Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting
- Working closely with operational and project teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
- Developing your commercial knowledge under the guidance of an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor

What We're Looking For
We're looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor who is eager to develop their commercial expertise. Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor
- Around 1-2 years' industry experience following graduation
- Good understanding of quantity surveying principles and commercial processes
- Strong Excel and numerical analysis skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships across project teams
The following would be advantageous:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Experience within civil engineering, construction, water or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
- Full UK driving licence
