Are you on the hunt for a role that gives you a fulfilling purpose? We are looking for a seasoned Principal Civil Engineer to join our client's leading consultancy, in a permanent position. This opportunity offers a hybrid working arrangement, where the successful applicant will be operating from their main office, located near Portsmouth, three days a week. This is an amazing opportunity to expand overall knowledge and skills across a range of Highway and Drainage projects.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design and implementation of a variety of civil engineering projects, with a large focus on drainage and highway systems.
- Monitor the upkeep of key project documentation, including drainage technical notes, flood risk assessments, and utilities statements, ensuring they remain up to date.
- Ensure that all work complies with relevant building regulations, security and safety protocols, and other key legislations.
- Build and maintain rapport with industry professionals, stakeholders, clients, and government bodies, to ensure all requirements are being met and implemented.
- Support and mentor junior professionals, nurturing professional development, high-quality performance, and collaborative working.
- Support business development through the identification and implementation of new opportunities and the establishment of project and business proposals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline, with a Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status.
- Profound experience as a Principal Civil Engineer, or a related position, with a portfolio of previous works showcasing experience with Drainage and Highway projects.
- Proficiency in SuDS, flood risk, surface water drainage system designs, earthworks, and section agreements (S278 and S38).
- Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of resourcing, project financials, and client management strategies.
- Effective communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities, with strong report-writing and technical presentation skills.
