This opportunity sits within our specialist Water and Wastewater MEICA team, operating in challenging and high-risk environments including confined spaces and work at height using rope access techniques. What will you be doing?

As a Senior SHE Advisor, you will play a key role in driving safety, health, and environmental excellence across operational activities. You will ensure compliance with company procedures, client expectations, and legislative requirements, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and best practice. You will provide expert SHE guidance and support to operational and engineering teams, helping to maintain the highest standards across all projects and activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the implementation and management of SHE and CDM requirements
  • Providing technical SHE advice to operational and project teams
  • Delivering engaging inductions, training sessions, and awareness campaigns
  • Conducting audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and supporting corrective actions
  • Monitoring performance trends and recommending targeted improvements
  • Encouraging a positive reporting culture and continuous learning across teams
  • Maintaining a strong and visible presence on site to support operational excellence

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an experienced SHE professional with a proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement, ideally within construction, engineering, or MEICA environments.

You will have:

  • Strong knowledge of SHE legislation, regulations, and codes of practice relevant to construction and engineering
  • Experience working within complex design and MEICA environments, including confined space operations
  • Understanding of business management systems, client procedures, and contract requirements
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and managing non-conformance processes
  • The ability to identify preventative actions and support implementation of SHE initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Qualifications & Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate, Diploma, relevant degree, or equivalent NVQ qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
