Do you have the drive to build your future whilst building the world around you? Our client, a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, are seeking a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer to become an active member of their dynamic team, in a permanent position. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to operate on a hybrid basis from the Ipswich office, whilst working on a variety of Education, Defence and Railway projects.

- Competitive salary ranging between £30,000-£40,000 (subject to experience).

Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and delivery stages within complex Rail, Education and Defence projects, from concept through to completion, focusing on electrical system elements.
  • Produce in-depth drawings using relevant software tools, such as Revit and AutoCAD, whilst collaborating with other professionals to ensure smooth system integration.
  • Oversee extensive electrical calculations, lighting design and distribution drawings, ensuring alignment with current regulations.
  • Conduct frequent site visits and inspections, allowing for installation reviews, troubleshooting and quality assurance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Profound experience producing designs for electrical building services systems, for a multitude of projects, with a focus on Rail, Education, and Defence.
  • Strong understanding of software tools, such as Revit, AutoCAD, and other design platforms, including Amtech, Dialux or Relux.
  • Proficient understanding of electrical distribution and installation systems, including lighting, life safety systems, LV systems, and fire alarms.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, with a detail-orientated and proactive mindset.
