Job Description
Here at Blueprint Recruitment, we are looking for a skilled Cost Consultant to join a leading engineering consultancy, on a contract basis, outside IR35. Within this role, you will be required to work on a hybrid basis working from our client’s office, 3 days a week, located in Durham, in which you will be working on a variety of projects, within the water sector, such as the Northumbrian water projects, as a part of a highly experienced commercial team.
-Competitive day rate £300-£350 (depending on experience).
–Hybrid working arrangement.
Responsibilities
-Lead the commercial delivery of clean water, wastewater, and gas infrastructure projects across all project stages, ensuring alignment with AMP8 objectives.
-Manage all commercial aspects of NEC3/4 contracts, including valuations, compensation events, and contractual obligations.
-Represent the company in client-facing commercial reviews, maintaining strong relationships and protecting contractual interests.
-Provide expert commercial guidance across assigned frameworks, ensuring efficient, gain-focused delivery in line with client and customer expectations.
-Draft and respond to commercial correspondence within contractual timeframes.
-Support the Infrastructure Director in driving commercial growth across key frameworks.
What We Are Looking For:
-A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
-Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a cost consultancy or commercial management environment.
-Solid understanding of procurement processes and standard forms of contract, particularly NEC and JCT.
-Proficient in cost management software and confident using MS Excel for reporting and analysis.
-Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
-RICS membership (or actively working towards chartership) is preferred.
